Continuing to pursue my hobbies with a special emphasis on RC quadcopter and RC aircraft flying and aerial photography, as well as amateur radio (KC1HTT), financial markets, Arduino microcontroller circuits, 3D plastic printing and amateur astronomy and astrophotography. Lately, I have been investigating ultraviolet C (UVC) disinfection of air and surfaces. I have evaluated several UVC sources and installed a UVC sterilization system in my home's air handler.

After completing US Army ROTC training at Carnegie Mellon University, I was commissioned a Reserve Army Second Lieutenant in the US Army Signal Corps on June 9, 1969. I served 3 months active duty for training in the Signal Officer's Basic Course at Fort Gordon, GA from July 1974 through September 1974 and was otherwise in the Ready Reserve from June 1969 through May 1977. Completed my Ready Reserve obligation with an Honorable Discharge as a Captain in the Signal Corps.

At CBS Laboratories in Stamford, CT, I worked on the development of optically addressed and CCD addressed, two dimensional, light valves based on deformable membranes. The two dimensional spatial optical phase modulation was converted into an intensity modulation using a Schlieren optical system.

Summer job at the Kodak Physics Research Laboratory working on pulsed visible and near infrared dye lasers.

Summer job in the Telemetry Branch. Designed, built and tested communications circuitry. I was fortunate enough to be working at the Manned Spacecraft Center in Houston, Texas when the Apollo 11 mission successfully landed and returned from the Moon.
