Mynd Calendar - iOS Smart CalendarMynd Calendar for iOS is an HTML (PhoneGap) based app with portions written in Objective-C. Platform Email support for AndroidMember of a small team that produced platform email support for Motorola's first Android based phone. My responsibility included the design and implementation of the "sync engine" portion of the mail support. This included the synchronization of the phone with remote email sources, persisting email data on the phone, and handling phone connectivity. The sync engine supported a generic email protocol API that allowed new email protocols to be easily added. Protocols supported by the platform included Active-Sync, IMAP, and POP. All development was in Java with database development in SQL.

Good Mobile Messaging – Client TeamGood Mobile Messaging (GMM) was a wireless email service. The GMM client runs on Windows Mobile, Palm, and Symbian devices and is implemented in C++.I was hired to help debug low-level service problems with the original client implementation for RIM 950 and 957 devices. The major issues included message flow stalls, low/corrupted memory, and the odd random crash. From there I joined the team responsible for porting the client software to the Windows Mobile platform (PPC and Smartphone). Areas of responsibility included data connection support, device power management, application timers, “Over-The-Air” (OTA) installation, and general work to support new devices. My last position was on the client architecture team. That team was tasked with simplifying and improving the GMM software base.

Internet Image Manipulation and Delivery - E-Color Enterprise ImagerEnterprise Imager was an enterprise product that provided the same color correction as the True Internet Color system (see below) while adding the ability to zoom/resize, pan, scroll, and rotate images. It consisted of an imaging server written in C/C++, several Java servlets that provided the front-end to the system, and HTML/JSP “viewers” that provided user access. The base system was licensed from a third party with the server supporting Windows (NT/2000) and Solaris. The system was brought in-house where I assumed responsibility for core server issues (enhancements and maintenance) and communication with the front-end servlets. I took responsibility for initial test plan development for the server and viewers to assist in meeting schedule deadlines.Internet Image Color Correction and Delivery -True Internet ColorTrue Internet Color was a color correction and delivery service for web-based images provided as an application service by E-Color. The system consisted of several back-end servers for color correction and image management that E-Color hosted and customer web site deployed servlets for communication and cookie management. I was a member of a three-person team involved in the design of an all Java replacement meant to address performance and scalability concerns with the initial version. My primary focus for the design was on directory services, communication, and overall system management.
