Project manager working to aid state and local applicants build projects tied to COVID-19 response and vaccination operations. Responsible for building and managing 30+projects, valued over $30 million in support of applicants from FEMA Public Assistance (PA). Subject matter expert for the applicant in understanding and implementing policy across applicant/cost/work eligibility for reimbursement. Additionally supported other projects/disasters.

Oversees ideation to implementation for Generation West Virginia's chapter network, policy program, and "UpThink" digital series content management. Directs, mentors, and guides a statewide network of 12 local chapters to expand social networks, develop professionals, offer access to community and volunteer projects through place-based events to attract and retain young people. Stewards a participatory policy development process and follow-on platform to enhance and support the advocacy of young people policy priorities at the local municipality and state levels using both unilateral and multilateral/coalition approaches. Manages and creates content for the "UpThink" digital series to elevate, promote, and share stories of young people from and across West Virginia.

Generation West Virginia is a nonprofit organization dedicated to attracting, retaining, and advancing young professionals in the Mountain State. Generation West Virginia represents the current and future generation of young leaders who want to contribute to our state’s success through energy, ideas, collaboration, and most importantly action. I was responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing the organization’s programs to attract, retain, and advance young talent. My focus is on programming that 1) creates jobs, 2) drives quality of place, and 3) advances policies that support these endeavors. GWV creates jobs through the Impact WV Fellowship program, addresses quality of place via our Chapter network, and advances policy via community engagement, participatory planning, and advocacy at the legislature. We know that young people can't stay in a place without a job, won't live in a place they don't like, and need an advocate for their legislative needs. At Generation WV - I'm proud to be part of that effort.

Responsible for five regional preparedness programs; Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), Citizen Corps, Youth Preparedness, Youth Preparedness Council, and America's PrepareAthon!. While supporting programatic objectives, I build community, state, and regional partnerships with stakeholders to build their capacity for preparedness and strengthen community resilience. Capacity building efforts often involve assistance in developing emergency operation plans, training exercise development, and local as well as strategic community engagment.Additionally, I serve as the Transportation Services Support Unit Lead to coordinate transportaiton efforts in times of emergency response for natural and man-made disasters. This requires coordination for multi-modal approaches to support responders and the devliery of critical commodities to the impacted area/s. FEMA Region IX’s area of responsibility includes: Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, Guam, American Samoa, Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands, Republic of Marshall Islands, Federated State of Micronesia and more than 150 sovereign tribal entities.

Selected out of 7,000 applicants to participate in the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Program. The PMF Program is a flagship leadership development program at the entry level for advanced degree candidates. PMF develops a cadre of potential government leaders. It provides some sustenance during the first years of employment and encourages development of leadership capabilities. It is a two year program where finalists will work within a USG organization in order to learn the ins and outs of that organization in order to develop their leadership skills for future government service.Requires 80 hours of training each year, a 4-6 month developmental assignment within the US government, for FEMA - a 1-3 month rotational opportunity within the Department of Homeland Security, and a deployment to a disaster response and recovery effort.

Conducts research on international trade issues, specific security situations, and agreements to develop briefing papers for the Department of Transportation Office of the Secretary's bilateral and multilateral international discussions. Assists with logistics for visiting foreign delegations and large international meetings. Projects include analysis of the maritime industry, treaties, and other international agreements.Analyzed stakeholder positions on key negotiation issues concerning theTransatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). Generated country maritime and trade briefs for various countries throughout Europe, Asia, Central Asia, and South America.

Served as a security management consultant for AFSC in developing and revising security doctrine, emergency planning, security software training, and security planning and decision-making tools. This experience was part of a coordinated effort between AFSC and Arcadia University's Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) Management course.

Masters in International Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), I primarily focused on stabilization operations, post-conflict development, and non-profit management. Through this program I have conducted field studies in Ireland, Northern Ireland, Serbia, and Kosovo. Study Abroad: Paris, France with American Graduate School September - December 2013. Internships: Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute (PKSOI) at the US Army War College and for the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Summer 2013. Published article: Finding a Way: Integrating Serb Police Officers into theKosovo Police Service, Peace & Stability Operations Journal Online, Volume 3, Issue 4, August 2013, p.14-18.Accepted into Alpha Epsilon Lambda (AEL) - Graduate Student Honor Society. Awarded the A. Richard Polis Graduate Scholarship Award. This award is given each year to a student in a full-time program who is on the Graduate Dean’s Distinguished Honor List and whose service to the University and to his or her academic program distinguishes him or her from others in the cohort.

Provided the director of Arcadia University's IPCR program assistance in research associated with terrorism, counter-terrorism, insurgencies, counterinsurgency, and conflict resolution applications towards non-state actors.Research included: Policy definitions of terrorism, differences between hard and soft power approaches to counterterrorism, concepts around ending terrorism, terrorist group formation and dissemination, terrorist growth versus decline. Taught a class of 25 undergraduate students on the challenges of asymmetric warfare and trained students in developing and utilizing security briefs.Produced three annotated bibliographies on terrorism definition, counterterrorism, counterinsurgency, and ending/resolving terrorism.

Assisted in the supervision of 26 US Army War College interns at the Peacekeeping and Stability Operations Institute (PKSOI) and the Strategic Studies Institute (SSI). Coordinated training, external trips, social activities, and professional development opportunities (such as guest speakers) among all US Army War College interns. Assisted PKSOI staff members in daily administrative duties regarding interns. Acted as the liasion between the interns and the PKSOI staff. Led a team of interns that worked with the Office of the Secretary of Defense Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) to create several products to better allow for the assessment and performance of GPOI and partner countries. Due to research efforts was able to publish an article in PKSOI's online journal :Finding a Way: Integrating Serb Police Officers into the Kosovo Police Service, Peace & Stability Operations Journal Online, Volume 3, Issue 4, August 2013, p.14-18.

Served as lead researcher for a small team of interns that worked for OUSD-Policy specifically on the Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI) to accomplish four tasks. For this internship it required a lot of coordination with Combatant Commands, the Department of State, and with US representatives at the United Nations. The accomplished tasks include the following:1.) To enhance statistical data on current peacekeeping operations around the world, GPOI partner countries, and GPOI support efforts. 2.) To update a monthly operational snapshot from Combatant Commands to better communicate what the CoComs are doing in regards to GPOI. The result was an updated report format as well as an updated reporting format that is currently used throughout the world. 3.)Developed a new GPOI presentation that will be provided to policy makers to better inform them on what GPOI is, its role in US foreign policy & defense, and the benefits of GPOI.4.) Developed a framework in which to conduct a program evaluation of GPOI that was designed to measure in-mission performance as well as performance with the GPOI partner. When both are examined one can determine the successfulness of GPOI.
