Multi-Lab Quartz Tec produce Quartz Glass products mainly for the semiconductor industry. I was responsible along with another colleague for managing the manufacturing processes within the factory in order to produce high quality goods efficiently and cost effectively.Main Responsibilities* Utilise my problem solving/organisational skills in order to ensure that the products were produced on time or schedule in work at short notice* Define from technical drawings what the requirements were to manufacture the product. This involved determining the raw material requirements and producing a process for the glass blowers to follow. The process involved liaising with other engineers, sales department and the glass blowers on the factory floor.* Attended regular meetings to provide updates and input on the day to day running of the factory.

I worked on a part voluntary basis as a Venue Technician with C Venues during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. During the C Venues get-in I was part of a large team which constructed a suitable venue where the performances would take place. This work was very labour intensive and involved working long hours to have the venue ready on time. During the time the venue was open I was assigned as the Space Technician to one of the larger stages. As part of this job I was able to work under tight time constraints and pressure as there were several shows each day which were required to run on time.Main Responsibilities* Rigging the lighting for stages* Constructing stages and areas for the public and ensuring that the venue met the required fire and building regulations* Assisting performance companies with their technical rehearsals* Maintain the stage area which included ensuring that all lanterns worked correctly, were properly focused and changed any burnt gels, completing any re-rigging required
