Manage/advise on a number of discretionary/advisory multi asset portfolios.• Manage the relationships of a pool of clients which include a number of trust companies and private clients and look to increase assets under management through these relationships. • Co-manager of a global energy sector equity sub fund for a South African corporate client. • Chairman of the European and US stock selection committee; role involves selecting stock for the Canaccord approved equity lists and then monitoring these stocks thereafter. • Member of UK stock selection committee as well as Oil and gas/travel and leisure/telecoms sector specialist to the UK stock selection committee; role involves analysing and recommending to the committee stocks that are listed on the UK stock exchange, which if approved are then added to the core UK equity list.

Buy side equity analyst for top performing European fund, consistently outperforming benchmark indices. Duties:• Researching European companies’ fundamentals and forecasting earnings over the medium term. The role involved studying corporate /industrial prospects and reports and accounts in depth, direct contact with companies and sell-side analysts. Fair value of the researched stock was calculated on a PE valuation. • Visiting companies and conferences to generate stock ideas as well as to increase knowledge on stocks held in the portfolio. • Monitoring portfolios and keeping the fund manager up to date on stock and market specific news. • Putting on trades with brokerage houses and managing relationships with them. • Assisting the sales team of the funds with any stock or fund related information.

A temporary position with the sales/customer services team for a group of offshore funds. The role was predominantly an administrative and after sales service function.
