Bill's father, Ray Laplante, founded Laplante Construction in 1964 and is still an active member of the team. Bill joined the family business in high school as a part-time laborer, mason tender, and carpenter, which continued while he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. After graduating in 1992, Bill joined the framing crew and spent the next five years in the field, learning every nuance of his father’s definition of the perfect home before moving into management. Bill became president of the company in 2003. He is a past president of the Western Massachusetts Home Builders Association and holds the Certified Green Professional™ designation from the National Association of Home Builders.
