Vice President Business And Operational Excellence

United States

Business Restructuring / M&A due diligence and integration / Business and Operational ExcellenceOversaw restructure of CP Kelco business in Oct 2023-Mar 2024 from a heavily matrixed global structure to a product technology platform P&L structure to improve accountability, business agility and organizational clarity enabling better business performance in volatile and evolving times. My primary focus was on the needed changes (adjustment, simplication and clarification) to the business processes that will underpin the new organization structure and ways of working to drive performance, including the S&OP process, business managing processes, grants and authority, capex processes and innovation processes. Oversaw CP Kelco's capex budget and deployment of $50M including transition from primarily expansion projects to value maintaining and productivity projects and establishment of engineering COEs With support of outside consultancy, delivered more than $3.5M annualized savings through procurement excellence project with an increased focus on the top spend categories, in particular opening up a long-standing chemical distributor for more than $1M in savings and identifying and rectifying two supply vulnerabilities. The project also led to a staffing increase to be able to focus on more spend categories for additional savings.Led the due diligence process from CP Kelco side on Tate & Lyle's acquisition of CP Kelco from JM Huber. The timeline was extremely short, but I was able to engage the right folks in the business, mobilize a small team and personally lead the operations workstream and heavily support the commercial and innovation workstreams to deliver the due diligence in the 30 days required despite many who thought it could not be done.Global lead of integration planning on CP Kelco side after deal with Tate & Lyle signed and now leading integration on the CP Kelco side post deal close on Nov 15, 2024.Board Director for ExoPolymer start-up.

Senior Director Strategic Growth Initiatives

Bringing in "New" into the business / Growth / Working with Start-upBuilding off the success with Citrus fiber, I was assigned to oversee and incubate CP Kelco's three growth programs advancing all three helping them fold properly into the existing organization and continue to grow.Stepped into difficult relationship and negotiation with start-up ExoPolymer of which we are an investor, and was able to almost single handedly save a scale-up and commercialization deal with ExoPolymer on their first product. Then became a Board director at ExoPolymer to continue to support ExoPolymer development and growth.Oversaw CP Kelco's Market Intelligence team and work.

Dec 2022 - Nov 2023

Senior Director Of Strategy

Cp Kelco

Atlanta, Georgia, United States

Strategy Development& Implementation and Delivery / Cultural transformation / Brings the organization in a direction through logic and influence not by directive / empowers and motivates / M&APartnered with Boston Consulting Group in 2018 to do a complete Strategy assessment and refresh of CP Kelco. The collaborative work validated the vast majority of our existing direction and strategy but highlighted the need for us to be much more customer attentive, in fact customer obsessed in order to continue to thrive and grow in an increasing competitive environment. As a result, I formed a small cross-functional team of well-respected leaders from around the business and led CP Kelco on a cultural transformation journey towards customer obsession over the next 2 years. While most of these cultural transformation projects either fail to take hold and have impact or wain over time, we combined linked the customer experience to the employee experience to our brand promise, engaged all sites and all employees as they all have a role to play. We combined many tangible actions, structural changes (including strategic account program supported by the end org, distributor consolidation) along with the softer cultural elements to not only create movement but lasting, in many ways self-propelling passion for the customer experience and where we are heading as a business. The impact of the transformation is felt in the price premium we have in the marketplace, the buying factors driving access and wins, and the earlier access to customer innovation days, needs and brief of their challenges and opportunities. Stepped in to lead and ramp up CP Kelco's newest product line, citrus fiber (Jun 2020-Oct 2023) that needed more care and feeding to be able to be properly owned and grown by our sales org and operations. We corrected several issues, brought production capability from 35% to now over 90% hit rate and grew sales more than 10 fold to $3M in revenue.
