I am a senior at the University of Louisville (UofL) majoring in chemical engineering with a minor in chemistry. Growing up in a household where my father was an engineer opened my mind to world of engineering and how engineering is all around us in the world we live. In my journey through high school, I joined many different clubs; however, the ones that spoke the most to me were the Lego Robotics Club and the Technology Student Association (TSA). The Lego Robotics Club was my first dive into the world of engineering and was the spark that ignited my passion of engineering. I worked on a team to develop the code for a Lego robot that would complete tasks in a set amount of time. In TSA, I was able to take my first glances into the engineering world as it pertained to the real world through field trips. I decided on chemical engineering after talking with my dad one night about what he does and becoming fascinated with the work he does on a day-to-day basis. Now that I am finally in college, I have begun to learn the fundamentals of chemical engineering and am currently developing teamwork, critical thinking, and computer skills that will help to transform me into a successful engineer. At UofL, I am active member in the American Institution of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and currently serve as the President for the chapter present at UofL.
