I believe taking care of patients is a privilege. Whenever a patient entrusts you for care, they are allowing you a glimpse into their life and what is important to them. It is often a patient's inability to continue with activities they enjoy that brings them to my office. I always try to remember that each patient is an individual with individual needs, fears and goals. The treatment that may be right for one patient may be wrong for another patient and I always try to take patient's personal needs into consideration when considering treatment.Treatment involves developing a relationship and rapport with the patient so that we can communicate more openly and completely. Once I establish the patient's goals and needs, a treatment plan is developed to best suit those needs. When possible, conservative measures are always utilized and exhausted prior to embarking upon any type of surgical intervention. A patient's treatment plan may include physical therapy, injections, medications and sometimes surgery. I always encourage my patients to share their concerns and questions with myself and my staff.
