Focused on delivery, managing, and supporting a highly sophisticated network infrastructure to all of the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) users. Supports the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) to maintain the functional systems of the network, and is responsible for the operations, performance, and availability within the NOAA NESDIS network. Functions as a team lead for the Assistant Chief Information Office – Satellites (ACIO-S) for numerous projects, thus providing vital input for requirements, performance analysis, and development plans. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of NOAA’s circuits, bridges, routers, modems, and gateways. Plans and manages the installation and decommissions of specific circuits moving to NOAA’s N-wave. Conducts short and long-term strategies to meet NOAA’s requirements, and prepares projects that illustrate the importance of the recommended network designs, changes, and enhancements. Generates network documents that pertain to NOAA’s circuit budgets, performances, and security standards. Keeps up with new developments for all assigned areas, including continually performing feasibility studies on how new products/technology would fit into the existing NOAA network infrastructures and developing implementation plans for the changes/upgrades. Responsible for the analysis, plan, test, implementation, and trouble shoot of NOAA’s network systems, and detects, isolates, notifies, and correct faults encountered within the NOAA network infrastructure.

Works as a contractor for National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration satellite operations under Columbus Technologies. Responsible for providing technical assistance and support to programmers, project managers, and system/network admins. Handles technical information on NOAA polar orbiting satellites to customers, while performing data acquisitions and reporting data anomalies. Tracks manages and maintains software and hardware integration, including the development of software and hardware to new or existing workstations. Installs, configures, tests, and maintains software and hardware for computer operations on and off-site for NOAA. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of satellite procedures, and how to acquire data, build methods, and operate computer systems. Supports an IT Help Desk, providing desktop user assistance; experience in writing code or scripts to automate processes (such as programming applications). Monitors satellite operations for loss data, corrupt data, or connection failure, and addresses the problem to find the clearest and efficient solution. Provides written updates for problem resolutions in ECMT ticketing system, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting manuals, procedures, and on-line documentation repository. A first-rate ability to write and edit reports of research into information technology topics, including analysis of the relative importance and pertinence of various sources. Provides networking/desktop support and performs mainframe and account maintenance tasks. Has earned commendations for teamwork, flexibility, and work excellence in providing IT support to customers and co-workers. Engages and tracks priority 1 issues, with responsibility for timely documentation, escalation, resolution, and closure of trouble tickets. Acts as a representative for congress, assisting with broad-scope IT projects and leading teams in cross- functional concerned efforts. Substantial experience working with the Architect of the Capitol Reservation database on site for constituents, visitors, and international guests. Manages technical support operations, troubleshooting issues to identify root causes and prevent recurrences. Directed help desk operations, enabling the development of a comprehensive knowledge base of common issues and solutions to improve help desk efficiency.

Greets visitors, and determines what information or assistance will result in the most efficient/effective visit, and will leave the visitor with the best impression of Congress and the United States. Delivers and arranges specific information for staff congress. Works as part of a team to conduct tours, and provide such presentations as might be useful to visitors. Assists Members and their staff in their dealings with constituents and other guests. Monitors physical plant readiness and site safety. Assists U.S. Capital Police with identifying potential security issues and ensuring visitor and staff safety during security contingencies. Conducts training for colleagues and Congressional staff on procedures and techniques for planning and executing visits, tours, and presentations.

Conduct public interpretation, talks, tours, and presentations about the marine life in Southern Maryland. Share information on subjects discussing paleontology, estuarine biology, and maritime history. Insure that all tours and programs are conducted in a safe manner for all visitors, and that the Discovery Room site is free of any potential safety hazards. Interpret accurate historical information to visitors in Lore Oyster House, Cove Point Lighthouse, and the Calvert Marine Museum. Provide hands on experience for visitors who wish to engage with the aquatic life at the touch tank. Open, close, and care for the historic site.
