Scientist seeking career change to data analyst. After almost 5 years in scientific research, I've discovered that what I love most about research is data analysis. To this end, I added a Data Science BS to my Neuroscience and Biology degrees, to formally learn what I had been learning on the job for years.I've worked primarily in R, but am familiar with Python (scikit, pandas, numpy), MATLAB, SQL, and Tableau/Power BI. As a scientist, I'm used to learning difficult things quickly without formal training—I love taking advantage of new skills and technologies, am always itching to learn.- Used NLP tools and machine learning models to predict collaborative problem solving performance from language, demographic, education, and behavior metrics; wrote a 47-page scientific paper detailing my methods/analysis and interpretation- Rose to highest position at both research labs I worked in within 1 year; garnered 2 years of managerial experience, while also doing research/data analysis, and completing 3 STEM degrees simultaneouslyI'm particularly interested in roles emphasizing data visualization, interpretation, and communication (i.e., presenting data/predictive models to non- analysts with clear and simple explanations), although I am open to all aspects of data analysis & data science!
