I am a community technologist and educator and an advocate for technology and tools that are usable, accessible, powerful, and creative. Sometimes this means I'm a teacher, running workshops or helping with projects. Sometimes it means I'm developing, designing, and prototyping hardware and software and sometimes I'm developing projects and curriculum for kids and grownups to learn to be creative and expressive with powerful software and hardware tools.For the past 10 years I have co-directed Parts and Crafts, a non-profit community makerspace and creative learning center which I founded in Somerville, MA. Previous to that I worked as a software developer, designing and developing tools for artists, architects, and non-profits. The common thread in all of my work with young people, grown-ups, software, and community development is that I make technology and technical skills usable and accessible so that people of all ages and abilities can use them to do creative and personally meaningful work.
