EPSRC-funded CDT in modelling the resource footprints of live data streams in digital twins, sponsored by Arup.

As part of the industrial strategy team, my main responsibilities were the delivery of a design for manufacture process, the compressed design and validation output and the automation requirements for turnaround on a zero-carbon aircraft.

I led a team of engineers to develop automation technologies, including GKN's component of the Wing of Tomorrow programme led by Airbus.

As a research engineer, I led research projects on Industry 4.0 in government supported programmes such as DAITAS (Developing Automated Assembly & Inspection Technologies for Aircraft Structures) and Wing of Tomorrow.In these projects, I evaluated, demonstrated and industrialised Industry 4.0 technologies for targeted value streams across our aerospace sites.

During the GKN Aerospace graduate programme, I completed rotations in Manufacturing Engineering, Design and Analysis.In manufacturing engineering, I tested a novel bolting method proposed as an enabler for laminar flow in the Breakthrough Laminar Aircraft Demonstrator in Europe (BLADE) project.In design, I worked on composite fan blades at Composite Technology and Applications Limited (CTAL). I developed design methods and processes, designed a seeded defect blade for NDT Qualification and a composite fan case cut-up.In analysis, I worked at Kings Norton, and developed an automated returns tracker tool, that would reduce the time spent on fault analysis for returned windows from 2-3 weeks to 2-3 hours.

Design support on the Solar Orbiter Polarimetric Helioseismic Imager (SO/PHI) project. I undertook two main projects that facilitated the mirror alignment in the optics unit of the telescope for this mission that launched in February 2020.
