I am a confident and ambitious person whom can work well under my own initiative or as part of a team.I enjoy the challenges and responsibilities of the Duke of Edinburgh and the National Citizen Service schemes and feel that this helps me in my school life and future employment.I have had experience through the Young Enterprise of creating a product and selling it direct to customers and have the confidence to move into a working environment.Throughout the process of completing the full Duke of Edinburgh i had to complete 3 separate awards, Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh.Bronze Duke of Edinburgh - I have completed my Bronze Duke of Edinburgh; this involved a two day expedition, I also had to spend 3 months doing voluntary work. Silver Duke of Edinburgh - I have also completed my Silver Duke of Edinburgh; this involved a 3 day expedition and 6 months doing voluntary work. Gold Duke of Edinburgh – Finally, I have completed my Gold Duke of Edinburgh; this involved a 5 day expedition as well as 9 months of voluntary work. Young Enterprise - At the age of 14 I took part in Young Enterprise. This involved a team of young people setting up and running a business, of which I was the operations director. We managed to get to the regional finals after winning the Walsall and Black Country finals despite being the youngest team. Mercers Association - I was chosen to represent my school on a visit to the Mercers Association. This involved going to London and meeting the Mercers Association’s owners who are the schools main sponsors.National Citizen Service ‘the challenge’ – This was a 3 week course that I participated in. It consisted of a week doing outdoor activities such as a 2 day expedition, another week living at university accommodation and a final week working on organising a community project.
