Review, manage, and document opportunities for quality, productivity, and delivery improvements with Kia’s Tier 1 & 2 suppliers. Maintain scorecards on all vendors and enforce corrective actions as needed. Develop quality systems and mindset with supply base. Achieved a 30%-50% reduction in targeted KPIs following months of consistent attention and enforcement of metrics. Perform multiyear evaluations of all critical scorecard metrics including warranty performance, parts per million defects in the KMMG assembly plant, and delivery performance. Utilize 3-year baseline data to determine individual target metrics. Routinely visit suppliers to ensure effectiveness of corrective actions and use the opportunity to identify systematic and management weaknesses, risk, and implement improvements. Conduct 6-8 training sessions annually with key suppliers based on audit findings. Planned and created a systematic training plan for North American suppliers based on weaknesses identified during audits. Subsequent results included ~20% greater preparedness and improved processes across suppliers. Audit approximately 30 suppliers annually adhering to HQ criteria (TS/ISO standards). Schedule and lead audits at supplier facilities on a wide array of commodities. Document findings and conduct closing meetings with vendors to address expectations, summarize reports, and manage follow up on improvement items.Invited to participate on a task force team outside of regular work scope at the plant’s vehicle processing center with the goal of developing improvement opportunities for the management team while improving efficiencies of vehicle movement onto rail/trucks for transportation. Mapped out cycle times and key processes improving vehicle flow between all stages from just off production to loading for transport. Efforts resulted in reducing man hours to complete movement cycles by 15%.
