I checked in on 1953 and spent my childhood in Brazil, Taiwan, and Peru. It was in high school in Peru that I became interested in photography. My earliest influences were the images made by Ansel Adams, Robert Frank, Edward Steichen and Paul Strand. My photography became more surrealistic and whimsical as I studied the work of photographers like Man Ray, Jerry Uelsmann, and Ralph Gibson.After studying fine art photography at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York, I moved to Los Angeles in 1975. There I worked for Synapse Magazine, an electronic music publication, photographing musicians and created album covers for local bands. Optical special effects and computer graphics became my new focus in 1978. I worked with various production companies in Los Angeles and Denver, finally landing in the San Francisco Bay Area in the early 80's.By 1986 I decided to combine my various experiences and interests and become a commercial studio photographer. I assisted other commercial and advertising photographers for awhile, then opened my first studio in Sunnyvale in 1989. I enjoyed the creative process of turning ideas into finished images in the studio. A few years later I moved to a larger studio in Palo Alto. My combined talents in both photography and computer graphics came in handy when working with my hi-tech clients of Silicon Valley. During this time I became a member of a professional photographers group, Peninsula Advertising Photographers Association. Over 10 years, I have served as a board member, treasurer, vice-president, and president.Aviation has been long time interest of mine. I eventually graduated from watching to doing and got my pilot's license in 1996. Naturally, I started doing aerial photography. I feel very fortunate to be able to combine the two loves of my life, flying and photography.I currently live in Millbrae, CA and continue to provide a variety of photographic services to clients in the San Francisco Bay Area.
