As a mechanical engineer, I have designed HVAC systems for many different buildings. After spending time on the construction half of things, I worked on the design half. I learned the entire design process from conception to completion. I have worked on renovation projects, new building designs, core and shell, tenant fit out, and entire floor layouts of skyscrapers. I enjoyed challenging and unique projects from warehouses to underground air removal, to self contained apartment layouts. I enjoyed the design process and the challenge of designing a duct system for a renovated building that were never made for duct systems.

I was hired as a consultant and worked under HNTB to continue at the PHL airport. I worked on three contracts during my employment; a special project (jet boarding bridge replacement), an electric sign replacement at PNE (Philadelphia North East Airport), and three new buildings for the maintenance team at PHL. I worked on contract specs, making submittal registries and handling any RFI's and change reports needing to be written. I enjoyed managing the three projects and developed an appreciation and interest in project management during my time with HNTB.

I was placed into the on-call division where I oversaw contractors in the general, site civil, mechanical, and electrical distinctions. I was responsible for reading and understanding engineering drawings and relaying instructions to the contractor. I created daily progress reports and created the monthly budget reports. I also managed my own project towards the end of my employment, learning valuable experience in all of the construction distinctions and project management.
