Responsible person appointed in terms of Regulation 2.13.1 as the Resident Engineer in general charge of the safe operation, maintenance and repair of all machinery at the Middlepunt Hill operation. Under the appointment I am responsible for a fleet of TMMs which include: - Load Haul Dumpers- Roof Bolters- Drill Rigs- Dump Trucks- Utility Vehicles- Light-duty Vehicles These machines are of a variety of OEMs which include Epiroc, Sandvik, Buraaq, Fermel, Bell & Toyota. My responsibilities related to TMMs include:- Tracking the scheduled maintenance of the equipment - Ensuring that proper repairs of equipment is carried out - Determining the applicable safe work practices to be adopted in ensuring the safe use of the equipment - Monitoring the asset reliability factors through their availability and utilisation indexes- Implementation of any legislative requirements imposed by the DMRE such as the Collison Avoidance System campaign - Ensuring that the labour force available is trained and skilled correctly to attend to timeously respond and diagnose any breakdowns that may occur A key KPI in my current appointment is to form part of the ARM team assigned to safely recommission and expand the Middelpunt Hill mining operations which includes the procurement and refurbishments of TMMs, re-establishment of operational systems, workshops, oil-seperators, change houses, office buildings, etc. Another key deliverable is to effectively introduce the Narrow Reef Equipment process into our mining cycle and take advantage of the benefits that the technology has to offer. We have engaged extensively with the equipment manufacturers Dok-ing to ensure effective implementation.

Engineer in charge of production and projects.In this role I'm appointed under Regulation 2.13.3.1 of the Mine Health and Safety Act as the responsible engineer for the production sections of the operations as well as to provide oversight of both OPEX and CAPEX projects. My key duties include ensuring that all machinery in my area of responsibility are operated safely and are repaired and maintained properly.The operations in question also include future production sections that must be developed and equipped for mining. I also take charge of major projects in the operations with a goal to commission and deliver the project to senior management on time and within budget.A number of the production foremen are also appointed under my area of responsibility to assist me in ensuring that proper maintenance work is carried out on a day-to-day basis. Formed part of the dynamic and talented senior management team of Jubilee Metals Group as the Engineering Manager and appointed in terms of Section 7.4 read with Regulation 2.13.3.1 of the Mine Health and Safety Act to be in charge of the Inyoni Operations’ engineering infrastructure and the maintenance thereof - including the management of any projects in my areas of responsibility. My areas of responsibility include: hydro-mining sections - including the associated TMMs, chrome plant, PGM plant, process water dams and tailings depositing dam.In this highly stressful and critical executive role I am responsible for:1. Cost control and monitoring of all engineering related expenses2. Maintenance of electrical infrastructure3. Maintenance of hydraulic processing equipment4. Maintenance of pneumatic reticulation systems5. Power consumption monitoring and instituting power saving initiatives 6. Establishing of safe work systems and the maintenance thereof 7. I have also on occasion served as acting plant manager under Regulation 2.6.1

Employed at Impala Platinum Limited and appointed as Operations Engineer for the 16 Shaft Complex. Under this appointment (Regulation 2.13.1) I was responsible for the safe operations of all engineering machinery under my area of responsibility – including all buildings, structures and tanks installed.A qualified Engineer in possession of a Government Certificate of Competency issued by the Chief Inspector of Mines.

Key duties in this role included relieving as the Regulation 2.13.6.1 Operations Engineer on a number of occasions as well as completing a well structured training program. This training program demanded comprehensive understanding and intimate exposure to a variety of mining practices and equipment such as winding plants, electrical reticulations at mines, dewatering and other fluid systems, conveyor belts, track-bound and trackless equipment, ventilation, maintenance systems, project management, etc.I have on a number of occasions served as an Acting Engineer, Engineering Superintendent or a Project Engineer for a number of operations, which include:• Everest Mine under Aquarius Platinum in association with Murray & Roberts, Lydenburg.• Mineral Processes Central Concentrator under Impala Platinum, Rustenburg.• UG2 Concentrator under Impala Platinum, Rustenburg.• Smelter Complex under Impala Platinum, Rustenburg.• Marula Platinum Concentrator under Implats, Burgersfort.• Tailings Dam Complex under Impala Platinum (managed by Fraser Alexander), Rustenburg.• Utilities Department - Fridge Plants and Compressor Houses under Impala Platinum, Rustenburg.• TMM operations – 12 North Shaft and 20 Shaft under Impala Platinum, Rustenburg.• Conventional operations – 1 Shaft, 4 Shaft, 6 Shaft, 7A&5B Shafts, 9 Shaft, 11 Shaft and 16 Shaft, Rustenburg.

Project management of engineering projects with budgets of no more than R 1 million as well as assisting the Regulations 2.13.1 Operations Engineers in their day to day duties.Studying and proposing cost effective improvements to operational processes.Ensuring that the training provided meets the requirements of the operations.

Working closely with the appointed Section Engineer.Studying and learning about the mining and plant processes of a variety of operations. During this time some experience was gained relating to the development and commissioning of underground trackless mines.Scrutinising and updating of technical drawings and mine plans during vacation work.Site visits to all Murray and Roberts projects.Vacation work during the December holidays.Most of the work exposure I've received was at Aquarius Platinum's Everest Mine as well as the processing plant. The mine was a trackless machine operation with over 100 machines. Along with TMM there was a network of conveyor belt infrastructure for transporting ore from the underground workings.
