Resident EngineerAfrican Rainbow Minerals Limited Aug 2023 - PresentJohannesburg, ZaResponsible person appointed in terms of Regulation 2.13.1 as the Resident Engineer in general charge of the safe operation, maintenance and repair of all machinery at the Middlepunt Hill operation. Under the appointment I am responsible for a fleet of TMMs which include: - Load Haul Dumpers- Roof Bolters- Drill Rigs- Dump Trucks- Utility Vehicles- Light-duty Vehicles These machines are of a variety of OEMs which include Epiroc, Sandvik, Buraaq, Fermel, Bell & Toyota. My responsibilities related to TMMs include:- Tracking the scheduled maintenance of the equipment - Ensuring that proper repairs of equipment is carried out - Determining the applicable safe work practices to be adopted in ensuring the safe use of the equipment - Monitoring the asset reliability factors through their availability and utilisation indexes- Implementation of any legislative requirements imposed by the DMRE such as the Collison Avoidance System campaign - Ensuring that the labour force available is trained and skilled correctly to attend to timeously respond and diagnose any breakdowns that may occur A key KPI in my current appointment is to form part of the ARM team assigned to safely recommission and expand the Middelpunt Hill mining operations which includes the procurement and refurbishments of TMMs, re-establishment of operational systems, workshops, oil-seperators, change houses, office buildings, etc. Another key deliverable is to effectively introduce the Narrow Reef Equipment process into our mining cycle and take advantage of the benefits that the technology has to offer. We have engaged extensively with the equipment manufacturers Dok-ing to ensure effective implementation. -
Operations And Projects EngineerImplats May 2020 - Aug 2023ZaEngineer in charge of production and projects.In this role I'm appointed under Regulation 2.13.3.1 of the Mine Health and Safety Act as the responsible engineer for the production sections of the operations as well as to provide oversight of both OPEX and CAPEX projects. My key duties include ensuring that all machinery in my area of responsibility are operated safely and are repaired and maintained properly.The operations in question also include future production sections that must be developed and equipped for mining. I also take charge of major projects in the operations with a goal to commission and deliver the project to senior management on time and within budget.A number of the production foremen are also appointed under my area of responsibility to assist me in ensuring that proper maintenance work is carried out on a day-to-day basis. The mine was a trackless machine operation with over 100 machines. Along with TMM there was a network of conveyor belt infrastructure for transporting ore from the underground workings.
