Mr. Meyer develops both land development and public works flood control design. He is currently designing residential, commercial, roadway, and flood control infrastructure projects.

Mr. Meyer’s main focus has been on the effects of soil antecedent moisture content on the hydrologic response of watersheds in arid and semi-arid environment s in the southwest United States. Mr. Meyer has been responsible for development and implementation of both research projects and field testing at numerous sites. The research projects have involved the use of both lumped parameter and discretized two dimensional modeling packages. Soil parameters used in the hydrologic/hydraulic models have been developed though both standardized methods here in southern Nevada as well as by methods developed by Mr. Meyer specific to arid environment hydrology.The focus of field characterization of watersheds has been directed at AMC but also the measurement of hydraulic conductivity of the soil. His work has involved the use of both tension infiltrometers as well as rainfall simulators. His work using these instruments has taken him to numerous different areas here in Nevada

Flood control planning and design

Post-wildfire debris flow modeling for a southern California watershed: FLO-2D was used to model the effects of wildfire on the hydrologic response of a watershed in the San Gabriel Mountains with debris flow. Calibration of the model is based on a debris flow event in the San Dimas Experimental Watershed. This project is part of the Urban Flood Demonstration Program of the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
