The Ram Fund is a student managed equity portfolio that has grown from a generous $100,000 donation by the URI Alumni Association into an investment portfolio worth over $260,000. As a derivative analyst, I: Explored different hedging and risk mitigation strategies using derivatives to hypothetically hedge the Ram Fund equity portfolio as well as fixed-income portfolios.  Used hedging strategies to smooth out expected returns and reduce drawdowns Analyzed the implications of adding portfolio constraints, such as ESG, and measured their effects on performance  Computed different performance metrics, such as the Sharpe Ratio and skewness to assess final fund risk-adjusted returns  Explored alternatives to the traditional CAPM model for use in high frequency trading using neuroeconomics (the synthesis of economics, psychology, and neuroscience) along with big data to optimize multiple portfolio objectives, beyond just risk and return.
