I am progressing into the second year of my BA Geography degree at University College London (UCL). This degree has helped to sharpen my skills such as, data analysis, research, debate, communication and team work, skills that have been developed throughout my childhood.Being a military child I had the opportunity to live across the globe, from South America to Singapore and Sweden. Giving me plenty of opportunities to practice putting myself in new and challenging environments. I believe this has led to my outgoing and go getting attitude, resulting in successes across various aspects of my life, seen when I was elected Head of House, Politics Society President and a Choral Scholar while still at school, these trends continued at university, being elected the Representative for university halls of resident within my first term, representing over 600 students at student union meetings. Being heavily involved in student life is something that I am continuing into the second year of university, having recently been elected Social Secretary of University College London Men's Rugby Football Club (UCLMRFC). During the summer of 2023 I wanted to use my skills and gain more workplace experience, leading me to apply to work in the Special Projects Team at RAW Charging, a leading EV charging company. I have been incredibly appreciative to be mentored by key personnel in the company, shadowing important meetings and understanding the importance of teamwork and delegation. It also allowed me to apply myself in independent and in group tasks, ranging from; organising inter company events; using R studios to analyse 56,000,000 data entries; brainstorming new customer databases; working to negotiate on sales; facilitating charity events. All in support of the Strategy/Special Projects team, working as a group to support prospective RAW charging tenders.This three month experience has given me valuable insight on how a business is run, all while allowing me to pursue one of my passions, sustainability. These skills and insights are something I am excited to bring with me forward into my second year of university and to future internship and work opportunities. I am always ready to seize any opportunity I can, and am welcome to be approached by anyone, as I am always looking to gain more experiences and enhance my network.
