William is a dedicated security practitioner with a proven track record. He was one of the early members of the Security Institute. and is passionate about ensuring that security becomes a recognised profession and is duly represented at Board Level. William co wrote the Institute's first Yearbook and Directory of Qualifications and subsequently three more. William also served as Secretary of the Security Institute Validation Board.Over the last 28 years William has undertaken a variety of roles for a number of organisations and governments including investigations, risk management, Security and business audits, Business Continuity, Crisis Management as well as Security Management. All of these skills have been underpinned with a full time Masters Degree from the Royal Military College of Science, Shrivenham in 2000. More recently William has been involved with ensuring organisations' operational resilience particularly within the aviation and connected sectors.William is most interested in understanding and the mapping of national and corporate critical infrastructure, its criticalitiies, inter-dependencies, weaknesses and consequences of loss with the aim of ensuring utmost resilience actress the spectrum from a variety of threats and hazards.
