I have ended my long working career with employment with the City of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan for the past 11+ years and am beginning a new chapter in my life with family as I enter retirement.

Leads a professional team of 14 employees, six of which report directly to the Director, with areas of responsibility for the Building Safety and Code Enforcement, Downtown Development, Economic Development, Parks and Public Spaces, Planning and Community Development, and Recreation Departments. Responsibilities also include ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery, providing visionary, innovative leadership which encourages and recognizes creativity and innovation at all levels with the division, and allowing for the professional and personal growth of team members. The Division Director also is responsible for the oversight and development of the division's annual operating budgets and five-year capital improvement plan.

Big Rapids, Mi

Lead county economic development efforts to promote, attract, expand, and retain business and job growth to Mecosta County, Michigan, primarily in the manufacturing sector. Successfully assisted with the expansion and consolidation of two major manufacturers resulting in the creation of 400 new jobs. Also assisted with the retention of another major manufacturer resulting in the retention of over 200 jobs which grew to 400 jobs after two years. Administered the county Brownfield assessment program, resulting in the creation of 120 jobs and new investment of $1.5 million over four years. Initiated the creation of a local school-based curriculum project to begin training the next generation of entrepreneurs beginning at the middle school grade level.

Oversaw community planning department, facilitated organizational and departmental strategic plans, coordinated land acquisition strategies and negotiated purchases, administered programs, wrote grants, supervised up to 15 employees
