As a new Supervisor and working as a Team Lead in a Union environment, I was tasked with supervision of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance technicians in day-to-day operations and functions. I was delegated to the initial implementation and formal tasking and recordkeeping of the newly installed Preventative Maintenance Programs.I learned while overseeing hands-on troubleshooting of maintenance/equipment and instantaneous problems. I managed, planned, and also the scheduling of maintenance employees to complete various tasks to reduce breakdowns and downtime of all production equipment and manufacturing lines. I accomplished job growth by showing personal strength and improvements within the department and was advanced into Production Supervision. This movement increased my knowledge and scope into a new environment. I was able to work with manufacturing schedules, chemistry control for heat specifications and customer orders as well as overseeing production staff.
