My current professional focus is on leadership within engineering and academia. I am focused on helping our FAMU-FSU College of Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering advance its mission to educate, train, and inspire our students to be successful in their future career and life. My research expertise is in solid mechanics, functional materials, controls, and uncertainty analysis. I have interest in advanced theories merging quantum and continuum scales, network science, and quantum computing. I am also focused on advancing engineering education by identifying innovations that focus heavily on learning, rather than teaching, to increase the chance of success of our graduates given the great challenges and complexities of fundamental engineering and technology development.
