I was promoted to this position where I was accountable for development of scalable Kubernetes microservices, AWS hosted applications, and software solutions related to provisioning, activation, management, and discovery of over 60M devices deployed nationwide within 3 separate footprints / provisioning platforms. I led teams of directors, architects, software engineers, system engineers, product owners, scrum masters and quality assurance engineers. Additionally, I was responsible for tier 3 operational support related to these solutions and applications.• Created competitive advantage by building, testing, and deploying highly scalable Access Policy Controller software solution via PacketCable Multimedia (PCMM) CableLabs specification which provided significant boost in mobile device data speeds.• Deployed/Supported the new Theft of Service (ToS) mitigation solution through leading several teams that built software to remove cloned cable modems and prevent them from connecting to Charter’s network. The solution generated over $500M in new services over 3 years.• Supported and implemented product features, increasing security and overhauled connectivity software for the Access Network which created competitive advantage through increased symmetrical speeds.• Led multiple teams bringing new Optical Network Units (ONUs) to market that expanded fiber and leveraged Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF), introducing High Speed Data (HSD) services to rural areas.

I led architecture, test, and engineering teams to bring commercial managed service projects to market. In this role, the focus was on Software Defined Networks (SDN) and virtual services.• Led engineering efforts for new SD-WAN services providing product teams innovative options for enterprise customers. Included orchestration and configuration of service as well as certification of SD-WAN CPE and SDWAN infrastructure. • Spearheaded and led architecture and engineering efforts for Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) based firewall service that provided less expensive alternative to an on premise appliance-based firewall. • Led engineering and deployment of DDoS mitigation cloud-based solution using Arbor resulting in new service to scrub traffic and protect against DDoS attacks.• Led efforts for engineering AWS and Azure Cloud Connect project that created new business opportunities for customers that want to establish network connectivity to cloud-based sites.

Served as a citizen soldier in the US Army Reserves culminating at the rank of Colonel (Retired May 1, 2020). Various positions and assignment, with the last 4 years directing and leading all Intelligence activities for the Army Reserve Medical Command (ARMEDCOM). Spent 3 years as the battalion commander of a Military Intelligence unit specializing in MASINT. Commissioned through ROTC at Florida State University and served 2 years on active duty as a Military Intelligence Officer in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and the Iraq War (2001 - 2003).

In this role, I was promoted and appointed by our VP/CTO to lead all cloud engineering initiatives. I led teams that were accountable for requirements, roadmaps, architecture, backend development, web user interfaces, training, testing, automation, documentation, SDKs, APIs, hardware, software tools, beta programs, and management of offshore QA contractors. • Completed beta and initial release of Cloud Protection Center (CPC). CPC targeted Disaster Recovery as Service (DRaaS / SaaS) market for cloud service providers (CSPs) to offer this service to their users.• Partnered with Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and business partners on integrating DRaaS offerings into their business model. Demonstrate CPC functionality to CSP partners and at private VMWorld sessions.• Led project and teams that built and released Cloud Migration Center (CMC), first internal fully cloud integrated product. CMC allowed users to migrate on premise servers and workloads into Azure cloud or across clouds from AWS to Azure.

I managed 3 software-based teams, collaborated with sales & marketing, professional services and architects.

After I returned from active duty from the U.S. Army Reserves, I was promoted to Software Development Manager where I managed projects and teams to bring new features and enhancements to the flagship Double-Take product which led to the company being able to IPO (DBTK on the Nasdaq).

Developed, maintained, and tested the high availability functionality for the Double-Take product. This included coding in C++ to implement failover and failback. Also developed new features in the graphical user interface for the product using MFC/C++.
