I am a Senior Director in the State and Local Income Tax practice at Alvarez & Marsal Tax in New York City and I assist clients in achieving their state and local tax goals in the form of tax optimization, tax planning, and tax controversy. As an attorney, I leverage my diverse prior experience working in public accounting as a Managing Director with BDO, consulting as a Principal with Ryan, and for large law firms as an Associate with Morrison & Foerster to advise clients with respect to complex state and local tax controversy, planning, ASC 740, and refund issues throughout the nation. I have experience in state and local tax matters at the audit, administrative, and judicial levels. The ways in which I have assisted clients in adding value to their businesses include utilization of alternative apportionment formulas, unitary combined filings, reduction of throwback sales, and qualification for preferential tax rates. I also have experience assisting clients in areas such as personal income tax, property tax, and sales and use tax, allowing me to bring wholistic state and local tax solutions to clients.
