I was hand selected by President Beck Taylor to represent the senior class in the transition from leaving Birmingham-Southern College and adjusting to Samford University following BSC's closing due to financial distress. Our team strives to help students have a seamless transition into the new environment while creating opportunities for involvement and adopting Samford as their new home. While our services are mostly directed to BSC transfers we found our ideas to apply to all fellow and future transfer students. As a senior representative, my duties focus on campus connection, club/organization involvement, creating connections for post-grad opportunities, and organizing BSC-centered aspects of graduation to tie both BSC and Samford together.

I work part-time at the Onward Reserve store while in Birmingham for school at Birmingham-Southern College. This job allows me to connect with customers, and local businesses, and gain experience in the sales world. I managed the register, checked out customers, assisted them if needed, restocked inventory, changed floor layouts, processed returns, and took inventory to see what was needed, kept in contact with other stores across the US in relation to stock exchanges, upcoming company events and news

I would be at the farm Mon-Fri from 6 am- 4 pm. Daily chores consisted of feeding the farm animals, cleaning animal stalls, checking the property's fence, taking care of crops, and doing daily maintenance work (weed-eating or leaf-blowing). My bigger project this summer was expanding the property fence line, restoring the 4,000-gallon pond and "remodeling" the land around it, tilling the crop fields, and rebuilding the old barn on the property from 1940.

The company I worked for built wood appliances such as grill tables and cutting boards mainly, but also cooking utensils and equipment. I helped put together product parts and then packaged them up and put shipping labels on the respective orders. Outside the office, I would help film and direct social media content for the Instagram and TikTok pages.
