Perry Bingham is the Director of Programs of BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair Division. Under Bingham’s leadership, Norfolk Ship Repair provides repair services to meet the needs in readiness and sustainment for the United States Naval units located in the Atlantic Fleet. Norfolk Ship Repair is the leading non-nuclear ship repair, modernization and conversion facility in the United States serving the U.S. Navy and other maritime customers. Prior to joining BAE Systems, Bingham had a 30-year career in the United States Navy. Bingham had operational sea tours in USS OGDEN (LPD 5), USS ANTIETAM (CG 54), USS THOMAS S. GATES (CG 51), USS COWPENS (CG 63), CARRIER STRIKE GROUP EIGHT and as Commanding Officer of USS BARRY (DDG 52) and USS ANZIO (CG 68). During these operational assignments, he deployed seven times to the Arabian Gulf, Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean or Mediterranean Sea, and served as the Maritime Air Defense Commander for Fifth Fleet while in Command of USS ANZIO. Bingham’s military duties included a tour at the United States Naval Academy; duties as Director of Congressional Liaison in the Office of the Secretary of the Navy; duties within the Joint Staff (J6) in the Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4) Space Systems Division, Head of Surface Warfare Junior Officer Assignments and Detailing Directorate at the Naval Personnel Command and his final tour as the Commodore for the Destroyer Class Squadron supporting the fifty-eight United States Destroyers around the world. Bingham has a Bachelor of Science Degree from the United States Naval Academy, a Masters of Science Degree in Management Information Systems from The George Washington University and a Masters of Science Degree in National Resources Strategy from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces where he earned the President of the National Defense University Leadership Award and the Major General Harold Mashburn, USMC, Leadership Award.
