As a current student at Auburn University, I love to learn new things and build relationships with peers and professors, while striving to make a positive impact in my environment. I have worked in the customer service industry for several years now and have benefited greatly from my experiences. Through these jobs I have gained interpersonal, time-management, problem-solving, and collaboration skills, to name a few. I began working in 2022 over the summer at a summer camp; Alpine Camp for Boys. I worked in the kitchen washing dishes, helping the cooks prep meals for 300-plus campers and counselors, and also serving meals, ensuring that everyone received what they needed promptly. I am not afraid of difficult, hands-on tasks and will work to the best of my ability to complete them.I enjoyed working with others in a setting similar to the camp so I found a job working at Danberry at Inverness, a retirement community. Working with older people is both challenging and rewarding. Creating relationships with the residents makes work enjoyable because I get to know them and can more easily relate to the residents. I serve residents three meals a day, making sure that they find something they enjoy eating and fixing any issues that may arise with their orders or other areas such as troubles with technology or similar. I have learned how to communicate effectively and efficiently while employed here. I also have learned how to properly de-escalate situations while offering proper alternatives due to some residents preferring things a very specific way and may become upset when things are not exactly how they expect. I work with some of my best friends which makes going to work enjoyable and something I look forward to doing.I got a job as a cashier in Auburn at Amsterdam during my sophomore year. I thought it would be difficult to balance work, school, and extracurricular activities, but having a job during college has helped me develop planning skills and allowed me to be both a student and part of the working class.During the fall of sophomore year, I became a brother in AKPsi, a business fraternity. Through it, I have met like-minded peers who want to better themselves professionally. I have learned several skills that can benefit me throughout life such as how to conduct myself during an interview, following up after an interview, Excel skills, and how to interact with others professionally and build connections.I plan on graduating with a degree in Supply Chain Management spring of 2026 after completing an internship summer of 2025.
