About William Pohlmann

I am an experienced software architect working in the computer software industry working on packaged and SaaS delivered solutions.I have worked in consulting, embedded systems, systems and database management software, credit card processing and mobile commerce software, and tax processing software.I am currently leading the technology strategy team for my firm with a focus on SaaS, big data, and application security.I love to solve technical problems. Figuring out how something works, learning something new, brainstorming a new solution based on coming to a shared understanding and model, this is what makes work interesting to me. Curiosity and a desire to know how everything works led me to science and physics. Eventually I learned I couldn’t know everything and understanding became far more mathematical than something that resulted in internal understanding. Switching to the software I was using in physics was natural. The same scientific approaches of modeling and determining an appropriate level of abstraction transfer very well to software and systems. An interesting problem that is challenging and requires creativity to solve is the ultimate satisfaction. Do you have any interesting problems?
