I am a graduating MSE student from Conestoga College, on track to graduate with distinction. Out of high school I began working as an operator in various production style environments, working in these environments helped me gain a respect for the work that goes into designing and maintaining automated production machines. I decided to pursue a career in automation, which began with my studies at Conestoga College, where through my course work and yearly projects I learned to design, build and integrate both mechanical and electrical components to automate various basic tasks. I additionally was able to take various other courses in such topics as: project management, document writing, production & process management, project financial analysis and leadership. Through my co-op opportunities I worked in production environments where I was able to assist in the development of production lines, and was able to sit in on many a informative discussion in regards to line optimization. I was also able to work in design environments, designing/generating models and drawings for various components, creating servicing documentation and performing design/material research. Through these co-ops I gained an interest in both production optimization and automation design within the food industry.I am looking forward to applying and developing my knowledge further within the automation industry, specifically the portion within the food industry as it offers many unique challenges in regards to both design and operation of automated equipment. Additionally learning as much as I can when it comes to the engineering profession so I may achieve my professional designation.
