My interest in finance started in high school during the midst of the 2008 mortgage crisis. I personally watched the destruction and devastation created by something that was out of our control. My family was lucky enough to have a father that worked for the state, and regardless of pay cuts, we were able to make it through the tough times. That did not mean we were not affected though. I worked with my father on several construction projects for others to earn additional funds to help us through. I remember seeing the stress and burden that my parents had on their shoulders and how much they tried to hide it. Thanks to the perseverance, dedication, and preparation of my family and especially my father, we made it through the other side. This is why I do what I do. My goal is to help plan for what we know is on the horizon, and prepare for those storms that we cannot yet see. I attended Calvin College from 2010 to 2013 and graduated with a BA in marketing and an Associates in Youth Ministry. Right out of college, I started to work with Lake Michigan Credit Union as a teller and quickly moved up to a member services rep. Although I enjoyed my time there, I knew that I wanted to help people in a longer term capacity. I became a financial advisor with Edward Jones in 2017. I was able to obtain my registrations and take extensive training on the ways that we as advisors, could help our clients out. After about a year there, I decided to move to TD Ameritrade as a financial consultant and was promoted to a senior consultant shortly after that. The culture was a great fit for me personally, but I noticed that I could not help my clients with all of their needs. After two years, I moved over to the Kanai Wealth Management Group which allows me to be objective with the products and services that I can offer my clients. I chose to work with this group because of their advisor support and they truly want to do what is best for clients all of the time. Outside of work, I have a beautiful wife, Meagan, two daughters, Olivia and Finnley, and a son named Elliot. With a young family there is not a lot of time to enjoy many hobbies, but we enjoy going on walks, spending time outside, and playing in the pool. When I am not with my family, you will typically find me remodeling or building something. I enjoy working with my hands and love the opportunity to help others.
