William Pullen is a subject matter expert in public sector human and organization development. His focus is the use of development to promote change in people and organizations. Originally a blue-water mariner, Willy has 25 years service in the public sector in a range of operational, management, and executive positions. He was a founding faculty member at the Canadian Centre for Management Development and taught in the CCMD Advanced Management Program. From 1995 to 2010, he had a professional practice serving public sector clients across Canada using development to implement change and improve performance. He is currently an Executive-in-Residence with the Centre on Public Management & Policy in the University of Ottawa's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs. At Odell House he works as a subject matter expert in public sector leadership development. In this role, he designed the Certificate Programs in Regulatory Leadership and Leading People for Results and acts as a member of the Directing Staff for both programs. He also assists with the Certificate Program in Public Sector Leadership and Governance and researches and writes on leadership topics of interest to public servants. Willy has a Master of Arts in Public Administration from Carleton University and completed studies toward an MBA at the University of Ottawa. He has taught graduate level courses in Advanced Organizational Behaviour, Organizational Leadership, and Organizational Change at Queen’s and Carleton Universities. He is a lapsed Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Performance Technologist (CPT), and a Master Human Capital Strategist (MHCS). Willy’s lifetime obsession is stamping out the use of impact as a verb. When this important task is accomplished he will turn his attention to eliminating Up Talk?
