Sample Preparation Technician
CurrentPrepping of core samples for lab analysis, in the mining exploration sector.Routinely lift heavy samples, sort, weigh, log-in. Run a crew of approx 6 individuals, dividing tasks amongst the ables forces and recognizing the strengths of each individual to ensure a productive day as a team, exceeding quotas and maximizing client efficiency. Operate machinery to breakdown the core (crushing with boyds then riffling with pans or crms, and pulverizing with mills) for the desired ppm, as well as perform quality checks.Gained experience with LIMS, G6, and CCLASS. I also have the ability to operate Excel, and manage computing systems. Send appropriate emails and keep good communication with other team members.Operated an MSPU (Mobile Sample Prep Unit) in Stewart BC. This was a 2 week on 2 week off effort over several months. Worked primarily alone and had to have excellent communication with my company leaders to ensure the mission was going as smoothly as possible. Handled all unforeseen troubles head on with confidence and composure, allowing for great recovery and causing no time delay on our output. Here I was recognized for my efforts and hard work on a site with a client.
