I work with a team that is responsible for training and evaluating a client unit's abilities to conduct mission command. As an OCT team we travel to the client unit's home station to conduct Military Decision Making Process training as well as evaluate their abilities during the annual training exercises. The goal is to work with the commander and his/her leadership to ensure the client unit reaches all of their training objectives and receives passing evaluations.

Afghanistan

I work amongst a team comprised of contractors from General Dynamics, CF Day & Associates and UDC that refurbish the Soviet made weapon system known as the D-30. My role amongst the team is to perform the quality assurance inspection to certify that each D-30 that leaves the workshop for the many Afghanistan Army units is in proper working order and ready for combat use.

5/12- 11/12 Brigade Operations Officer: Assigned to the 157 IN Brigade is comprised of 800 Soldiers that organize, plan and resource pre-deployment and post- deployment training to National Guard and Reserve units entering and leaving Afghanistan, Horn of Africa, Kosovo and Kuwait. • Assisted in the forecasting and development of the year long planning calendar comprised of 12 different Reserve and National Guard units consisting of nearly 5000 Soldiers. • Revised the weekly report from the units amongst our 800 Soldier Brigade that directly improved information flow to the higher headquarters.09/11-04/12 Operations Officer: Deployed with a team of 18 US Army Soldiers that coordinated and synchronized a designated training plan for the Afghan Army at the Afghan Army fielding center for Afghan units preparing to deploy throughout Afghanistan. Each Afghan unit consists of 1000 Soldiers. • Developed the first class that instructed Afghan Army Officers on how to organize their operations department and assign the jobs that belong within the operations section. 04/11-09/11 Battery Commander: First in charge of a unit consisting of 80 Soldiers who were being medically discharged from the Army due to both combat and noncombat related injuries. • Planned, resourced and coordinated job fair events in and around Colorado Springs, CO that resulted in the hiring of 10 Soldiers and 4 Soldier’s spouses. • Identified by the unit as being the top Fire Support Lieutenant out of the 5 Lieutenants rated. • Awarded the Combat Action Badge for actively engaging and being engaged by the enemy in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) X.• Awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service while assigned as Fire Support Officer and Information Operations Officer during Operation Enduring Freedom.
