Write contract-worthy bid proposals / bid forms providing qualifications, inclusions, and exclusions, payment terms, etc. Critical follow up until project award. Provide additional information to general contractor as needed. Review sub-contracts for errors, gather submittal data, safety data, MSDS, for job start up. Provide support help to Project Manager as needed. Write RFI’s. Quantify, write and submit change orders. Submit monthly billing. Responsibilities: Complete preconstruction hard plan and spec bids complete with proposals. Review all documents, quantify and enter data into ConEst computer estimating program, review estimates with Supervisor. Maintain existing relationships with current general contractor clients and vendors. Develop budgets for government and military design-build projects utilizing only RFP documents provided. Develop design build projects from concept phase through completion – including progressive stages of drawings. Work with all electrical vendors: switchgear, fixtures, fire alarm, low voltage, generators, lightning protection, etc. Communicate with general contractors. Pre-bid & reviewing scope on bid day. Critical follow up until project award, providing breakouts, value engineering, etc. Follow thru to contract, turn over bids to operations, Work with PM as needed to insure a successful project. Reviews contracts to ensure they are synonymous with what was bid; negotiates items that are in-congruent. Rough Framing Construction - Valuable experience at the lowest rung of the construction ladder. Gave me appreciation for what field workers do on a daily basis. Poured, carried, floated, finished concrete, placed wire mesh for concrete slabs, tied steel for pylon casings, performed daily site clean up and trash pick up, Wall layout, attended site meetings and took notes, red line drawings, and other low level tasks.
