I’m an occupational health and safety executive with a diverse background that includes serving on a boards of directors for municipalities, nonprofits (healthcare and education), and a private Christian school. For 25 years, I’ve worked for National HealthCare Corporation (NYSE: NHC), a $1B publicly traded healthcare services provider with 12,000+ employees across 68 skilled nursing facilities, 23 assisted living and 5 independent living facilities, 3 behavioral health hospitals, 35 homecare agencies, and 29 hospice agencies. Since 2006, I’ve functioned as the Director of Safety for NHC, overseeing the company’s fire, emergency management, life safety, and OSHA areas. Prior to this role, I served as an assistant administrator and administrator of two skilled nursing facilities within the NHC umbrella.I bring a well-rounded background in board leadership and community service. For more than 14 years, I’ve served on the Board of Trustees of Middle Tennessee Christian School (MTCS), including membership in the governance committee, finance and investments committee, and previously, the presidential search committee. I’ve also served as the treasurer since 2016.Additionally, I’m a board member and officer for The Foundation for Geriatric Education (TFGE), the National Health Foundation (NHF), and recently joined the board of the American Red Cross, Heart of Tennessee. I previously served on the board for the Rutherford County American Heart Association for 6 years, and as a member of the audit committee for Rutherford County for 8 years (chairman for 4 years).I hold an MBA and a BBA from Harding University, and I'm Directorship Certified® by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD.DC). I recently completed the Corporate Governance Program (Corporate Governance: Maximize Your Effectiveness in the Boardroom) through Wharton Executive Education, and I’ve participated in various other leadership training programs.My wife and I are long-time and active members of North Boulevard Church of Christ. We’re also dedicated to supporting adoption causes and Christian education, as well as donating to philanthropic efforts, and traveling to new destinations.
