I completed my Bachelor's degree at Sam Houston State University in Criminal Justice. Afterwards I stayed at SHSU and completed a Graduate program in Security studies. While in this program I completed my Master's thesis on the security threats and implications of Human Trafficking. During my graduate program I attended an internship at The Guidry Group as an intelligence analyst and special project member. During this time I took classes in close quarter protection and high risk, high threat training. After completing my Master's degree I continued working for The Guidry Group as a contract employee doing the same jobs listed above as well as working on their Disaster Response Team. While at The Guidry Group I worked with teams whose tasks included, asset protection, data & research for white papers. Travel plans and security protocols for clients as well as emergency response protocols. I received the opportunity to then transition to the Houston Police Department. After completing a 6 month academy and multi phase field training program I went to work in South-West Houston as a patrol officer. I have had extensive experience in dealing with high stress situations, running warrants, participated in narcotics and vice operations. I completed my career working for the departments Crisis Intervention Response Team. CIRT was a partnership between Police and mental health professionals to response to mental health crisis situations on a city wide capacity. During my tenure I responded to calls to assist patrol with individuals suffering from mental health crisis, coordinated complex scenes with SWAT and our HNT (Hostage Negations Team) where I routinely took lead in deescalating individuals so they could either receive medical attention or be taken into custody. In 2019 I began to transition to work full time with The Child Food Program of Texas. The company was responsible for compiling and submitting claims for non-profit after school and at-risk programs. The company implemented policies put forth by Texas Department of Agriculture and The Food and Drug Administration. Essentially the sites would receive monetary reimbursement, per child, for meals that met the Federal and State guidlines. I served as the Assistant Director - Business Operations. I worked directly with the Chief Financial Officer and was being trained to ultimately take over his position. I worked heavily in the office on special projects and as a main point of contact in the events of conflict within the office.
