Field radio operators identify personnel who employ radio to send and receive messages. Typical duties include setting up and tuning radio equipment, including antennas and power sources; establishing contact with distant stations; processing and logging notifications; making changes to frequencies or cryptographic codes; and maintaining equipment at the first echelon. Other duties as a Radio Operator include troubleshooting radios, working on administrative paperwork, filing, and stocking, setting up computers to work congruently with radios troubleshooting computers, and communicating through different waveforms in a clear and precise manner.
