Special assignment in support of headquarters and regional management

Turkey/N. Syria

Responsible for the management, project implementation, operational oversight and supervision of a team of more than 350 Syrian, Turkish and expatriate staff members implementing humanitarian programs ($20-40 million USD annual budgets) for Syrian refugees inside Turkey and for the remotely-managed cross-border humanitarian programs for war-affected and displaced families in northwestern Syria.

Afghanistan

Oversaw a multi-donor program portfolio ($6-9 million USD annual budgets) and supervised a team of more than 300 Afghan and expatriate staff members across four main offices in Afghanistan. In collaboration with the Afghan government and other partners, our teams established community-based schools that provided education to thousands of girls and boys in remote rural areas of the country and worked with poor farmers to improve their agricultural production and introduce sustainable natural resource management practices.

Advisor for emergency preparedness and response for Latin America and Caribbean region; project design, proposal development and program quality technical support; managed regional emergency response fund; development and coordination of emergency strategy and institutional learning at regional level; supervision and management of regional rapid response team

Managed emergency earthquake response in West Sumatra, oversaw program implementation and regular strategy evaluation, responsible for inter-agency relations and coordination with other NGO’s, UN and government partners, cultivating donor relationships and leading new proposal development and submission, providing direct supervision to head of programs and support staff management (Admin, Finance, HR and IT)

Managed program activities, strategic program planning and new proposal development, coordinated inter-agency relations, and oversaw all staff performance, office expansion and administrative/financial operations of a multi-sector emergency relief and development program

Managed inter-agency relations and coordination of emergency relief operations, managed CRS staff movement and security procedures, provided support, oversight and synchronization for programmatic activities in food security, agriculture, education, water/sanitation, shelter construction, and health/nutrition, fulfilled representation role in West Darfur and served as Acting Head of Office on multiple occasions

Developed marketing and growth strategies for small farmer cooperative and plan for Fair Trade coffee program, assisted donor identification, research and proposal writing for country program, planned and coordinated volunteer programs and group visits, and handled information and evaluation requests from headquarters and donors
