I have over 25 years of experience as a solicitor here in Brisbane, dealing with all aspects of family law for at least half of that time. I commenced my own legal practice, Schoenmaker Legal in January 2016.Whilst I continue to focus on family law as I have been, I am also able to assist clients in such areas in the preparation of their wills and enduring powers of attorney, estate law matters, criminal and road traffic law matters. Associated areas of my practice include domestic violence and drink driving matters.I have a strong desire to meet my clients at their point of need so as to assist them to understand and come to terms with the particular issues confronting them. An emphasis is placed on highlighting a timely and cost effective way in assisting clients in resolving their issues. I also address dispute resolution by means of a negotiated settlement of the issues with my clients as a preferred alternative to the lengthy and costly process of litigation through the courts. I also participate as a volunteer solicitor with Caxton Legal Centre Inc, having done so for many years, as well as speaking to community groups on various legal topics. Outside of law, my passion for cycling helps me to stay in shape. I cycle whenever possible, riding to work and also on weekends. I have also participated in a variety of causes including the “Ride to Conquer Cancer” in 2013 raising funds for caner, Brisbane to Bay for MS and the Brisbane to Gold Classic in support of the Heart Foundation.
