As a Senior Scientist & Program Manager, I offer a track record of success in blending chemistry, physics, and engineering principles for the development of novel technology in environmental remediation work. As a proven program manager, I excel in leading diverse teams of scientists and engineers in bringing innovative, patented products through design, development, testing, and application processes. I also provide leadership in laboratory work, regulatory compliance, quality control, and employee training/development.I am currently advising Tai Chong Cheang Steamship Co. in the application of transient plasma technology for curbing emissions in the marine diesel industry. The company is an environmentally conscious shipping company looking for ways to meet future maritime environmental requirements. They helped fund the program I managed at the University of Southern California to develop this novel technology for emission remediation from combustion exhaust gases.While leading this program at USC, I headed a team of 12 diverse scientists and research professionals, including electrical engineers, physicists, and chemists. Our work involved traveling across the US and internationally to conduct field tests at US government and military installations, including challenging locations such as the engine room of a US Navy ship, mobile marine test platforms, and more. I was named on three US patents and authored several publications based on this work.Prior to starting my Ph.D. at USC, I worked as a Plant Chemist and Laboratory Manager at Astaris, LLC., supervising 50+ team members in the lab while leading advanced method development and instrument design/modification for inductively coupled mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), inductively coupled optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS). I also developed analytical SOPs to ensure compliance, procured equipment for industrial research, and trained/managed safety protocols within the lab.
