As an Auto Detailer, we were to make sure a vehicle met the Carmax cosmetic standards before the vehicle was ready to pictured and put on the front lot. We were tasked with:- Vacuuming and wipe down- Repairing rips in the leather of the seats, doors or center console.- Filling holes in any cloth surface like the seats, headliner or trunk. - Making and using touch up paint for defects on the wheels or in the paint.- Buffing/ Polishing any defects in the paint.- A pre-inspection of the vehicle to determine the time, material and labor that is needed before to build the vehicle. - A final inspection of the vehicle before it is put on the lot to determine if it meets Carmax standards or needs more work done.- Filling, sanding and repainting holes or cracks in hard touch plastic surfaces like doors, center consoles or dashes. - Filling star or bullseye chips in front windshields.- Working with a team to accomplish a goal of a certain number of cars to be built for the week.

As Assistant Managers, we would be tasked with running the day by day schedule of the shop to ensure we were staffed properly for business. Address any concerns or questions a customer may have, either face to face or over the phone. Ensure the staff was wearing the proper PPE while in the shop. Training new staff members or current staff members seeking a higher role in the company. Keeping the business running smoothly by filling in or assisting in any roles that are in need of help, whether that would be one of our sales representatives or one of our Auto Detailers. Making decisions and problem solving quickly under a fast paste environment in order to keep the business running smoothly and effectively.
