Leading the finance team at VVB Engineering Group, across all aspects of company finances including budget and forecast delivery, financial reporting, treasury and accounting services.

I have taken on responsibility of the Financial Reporting team in addition to my current role as long term cover for a secondment. Responsibilities include management account production, year end stat account submission and management information reporting.

Responsible for: Capital Projects, Capital Accounting, and capital budget; Annual Business Plan financial modelling and submissions; other large financial projects e.g. industry driven Accelerated Spend.

As a financial analyst I was involved in developing the FP&A capabilities for First Rail including:+ Account consolidation for 20+ entities across the division+ producing periodic management account information for publication in year end accounts (Financial and Environmental)+ Providing ad hoc contract change support to finance teams in the division.+ Developing new processes for revenue reporting and balance sheet calculations

In this role I supported the central commercial finance team, providing analysis and financial modelling across a number of contract negotiations and applications. This included Staff Cost Modelling on both the successful West Coast Partnership bid (Avanti) and GWR Direct Award, and Financial modelling on the Heathrow Express Management Contract and East Coast Open access operations.

As a bid analyst I was exposed to the commercial side of the industry. I supported bids, contract change projects and contract mobilisation teams by providing demand and revenue analysis to support commercial decision making.Projects included South Western Railway Mobilisation and Transpennine Express change.

RSSB has offered me a wide range of opportunities and responsibilities, giving a broad range of different experience. I was the RSSB representative on two industry groups; the Trespass Risk Group and the National Suicide Prevention Steering Group. These are tasked with reducing harm and delay minutes resulting from suicide and trespass events. Support for these groups involved regularly undertaking and presenting bespoke analysis to leaders in industry, and becoming a topic expert on both of these issues.Other responsibilities included co-management of data requests (providing data and analysis to members who request it), supporting the data quality process (specifically fatalities on the network), and providing support to the Risk team with the risk assessment of standards changes.
