About William Sieger
I joined the Army to serve our country. I became a combat medic to serve the men and women who serve our country. My interest in healthcare application really peaked when I witnessed two of my battle buddies die in combat. Their deaths were non-preventable. The high level of expertise in medical knowledge and application that was rendered before they passed, taught me an important life lesson. Our education and practice have real world ramifications and dictates the outcome of a patient's prognosis. Serving in the one of the most advanced Special Operations units (75th Ranger Regiment) was a feat of its own. The attrition rate was over 90%. Most people did not have the will power and intestinal fortitude to continue the training. I know the discipline it takes to deliver top care. For over 18 years Ranger Regiment has been constantly deployed in Afghanistan. Amazingly enough Ranger Regiment has had no preventable combat deaths. This is the result of discipline and attention to detail which is shown at every level, starting with us, the combat medic.Nursing gives me the opportunity to continue serving. Instead of focusing on a small group of sixty soldiers, I may now be responsible for a much larger community, our community at home. My goal is to continue my education to the point that I am able to open treatment facilities and provide more access to care even in the most rural parts of this country.

- Created and implemented a Ranger First Responder course in Afghanistan with 100% pass rate (Feb 2017). Over 30 Rangers were trained on whole blood transfusions, trauma algorithms, and advanced lifesaving interventions.
- Completed 1140 classroom hours, 180 clinical hours and 96 field internship hours; exceeding the minimum terminal competency for the entry-level NREMT-Paramedic. (Special Operation Combat Medic Course, Jan 2014 - Dec.
- Completed Trauma Hospital rotation at Tampa General (Dec 2014). 100% completion of mandatory skills such as intubations, chest tubes, urinary catheter insertion, IV insertion, nasogastric tube insertion, etc…
- Provided emergency medical care for over 50 injured Rangers in events such as airborne jumps, fast rope training, and other physical activities. Medical care including splinting, advanced pain management. (narcotics)
