I currently run the concrete / screed plant at Croydon. Have been manager here for nearly 4 years. We do various products from our Croydon depot, ready mixed concrete, Gypsol screed and TLA. My duties here include shipping, batching, HSE, filling the aggregate bins, house keeping and much more, to ensure my plant is running and full capacity.

I currently work as a plant manager at Bretts London division called Capital Concrete. Who are aiming to be one of Londons best concrete firms. My duties include, running and managing the concrete plant in Croydon. Using the batching system Command Alkon to load trucks. It’s currently a one man plant, so that includes driving the FEL and filling my aggregate bins. I also host health and safety meetings every month with my drivers, to discuss and health and safety issues, on and off site. Making sure the plant is running at full capacity, safely and environmentally friendly. Making sure my log books are up to date. I also do my own cubes on site, making sure our concrete is in specification.

I ran the tarmac concrete plant in Park Royal as its supervisor. I role I gained more knowledge on health and safety, and successfully managing a plant.

Loading and batching concrete Lorries with computer systems SAPs andCOMMAND Alkon. Every morning at 0630 I grease concrete mixer assure everything is perfectand ready for production. I keep the depot clean and tidy, I drive both JCB and a Hitachi470 grab excavator, I grease, re-fuel and do my daily checks on these machines. Otherduties include; Health and safety, risk assessments, method statements, safe systems ofwork, COSHH & Tool Box Talks. I assist the shipper with shipping and help manage thedepot. I keep concrete mixer clean and tidy every night. I work along side engineers,haulages, environmentalist and I bide by the HSE. Duties included, unloading and shipping. Other roles consisted of keeping the warehouseclean and hazard free, ensuring health and safety was carried out.
