William (Bill) J. Stokes has a BS Degree and completed post-Graduate work in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in thermal/fluid systems and nuclear engineering from Drexel University. Bill is an experienced and effective engineering manager and is the Founder and President/GM of Columbia Basin Consulting Group. Bill has over 45 years of experience in corporate and project management and strategic planning of complex, advanced nuclear technology, energy production and related projects. Bill has owned and managed his firm since April 1997, with full responsibility for product quality, strategic partnering, product cost and schedule delivery, and company financial performance. Bill expanded CBCG’s consulting services into advanced energy technology development and focused on the Clean-Energy technologies for cost-competitive, clean-energy nuclear power systems and a grid-scale energy storage battery design. The company maintains a reputation for high quality products, on-time and on-budget delivery, and integrity in both technical and business customer relationships. The company rarely competes for work but rather enjoys a consistent history of repeat and referral business. Bill started his career as a systems design engineer on high-temperature gas-cooled nuclear reactors and on light water reactors. He moved from design to construction and operations, having worked as a supervisory mechanical construction engineer on several new-build plants, quality program supervisor on nuclear plant major repair projects, and maintenance supervisor for refueling and repair projects. Bill was heavily involved in the post-TMI industry upgrades, emergency preparedness training projects, provided licensing hearing testimony, and provided project management consulting assessments and testimony preparation support in nuclear plant contested cost litigation.
