As part of a University initiative, I worked as a Front End Developer on a smart receipt budgeting application for Capital One. The purpose of this application was to automatically categorise and cost receipts from supermarkets, making budgeting easier for users in line with Capital One's core mission of financial empowerment.In this role, I led the development of the application using Vue.js, JavaScript, Cordova, and Ionic within an Agile team. My responsibilities included:Integrating the front end with a RESTful API, using Flask running in a complex Docker pipeline.Implementing features for categorising receipts into over 12 categories with high accuracy (85%+) using the Cloud Vision API and fuzzy matching.Creating and integrating full-pages, including camera support, an account system, an analytics page, a settings page, and a home page summary with various directions and user interactive modals.Producing the data visualisation for all of the data coming from the back end using Chart.jsWorking closely with the Frontend Design team, who produced designs in Figma which I then converted to real application functionality.We had frequent team meetings after every two sprints with the Capital One project supervisor. During the project, we were shown around the Capital One offices and conducted a variety of presentations there. We also held our sprint meetings at their office, which provided valuable insights and feedback from industry professionals.We showcased the application to Capital One and other companies, receiving positive feedback during the university demonstration day.

During my time at Silverdale Library, I was responsible for maintaining the organisation of library stock and assisting the volunteer team with the library's in-house computer systems. I gained hands-on experience with the computer systems used to serve the entire county, learning how data is stored and managed within the library’s database. This role enhanced my technical troubleshooting skills and provided me with valuable insights into IT support and system maintenance in a public service environment.
