At Le Tote, I maintain/expand the core app and build/maintain other iOS apps and libraries as necessary. I play a highly collaborative role with product, design, and other engineering teams as features are being designed and built.Major Accomplishments:* Recommended Products - Here, the user likes or dislikes each product in a set of 40 new products once a week. Because liked products tend to lead to better liked totes, this feature increased tote satisfaction and tote ratings. It has also contributed to higher engagement because users enjoy liking and disliking the products.* Tote Swap Experience Redesign - Le Tote lets you see and swap out items before having the tote shipped. We redesigned the swapping process in late 2016 to early 2017. After the iOS implementation was added, a greater proportion of swaps were performed on iOS in comparison to other platforms. In addition, a greater proportion of tote confirmations occurred on iOS.* GraphQL Support - The Letote Engineering organization decided in 2016 to switch to GraphQL for future API services. This led to a number of challenges, and the iOS team decided to build a query formatter library to decrease development time. I built the original codebase, and I've maintained it as other iOS developers have requested features. We continue to build new features here and make adjustments as developers make new requests.* Referrals - This feature allows customers to receive credit for sharing the app with their friends. I have worked with product and design to ensure that we take full advantage of system contacts, messaging and social media sharing capabilities. This has led to and increase in referral customers.Tech:My GraphQL library - https://github.com/LeToteTeam/Stardaze. An app that is primarily Swift with some Objective-C in libraries. A few small helper apps also in Swift.

At Keeptruckin, I maintained the main iOS app and built new features. Keeptruckin is an app that allows truckers to spend less time filling out their logs while allowing trucking companies to maintain more accurate logs for their truckers by eliminating the manual effort of filling out forms. The app maintained compliance with United States federal and state laws. The app also read from a device connected to the truck engine that collected odometer, speed, and other information, showing it in a readable UI and passing it on to the server as necessary.Technical Challenges:* Data Consistency - The iOS app received events for every start and stop event from the truck's engine connected device. In addition, we would send and receive information from our web server on a regular basis. Having a firm understanding of grand central dispatch was essential to this job. Much of the work involved receiving large amounts of data from the truck and processing it while maintaining a good user experience that reflected the most up to date reflection of the data. If there were ever conflicts between the information received from the truck and the information received from the web server, we would also need to handle that in a consistent expected way.* Specifications - Because truckers drive through many different legal zones through the course of a single day, keeping very clear product specifications dealing with different legal zones and different timezones was very important.Tech:GCD, FMDB, SQL, Bluetooth

Created a CRM iOS App with features for maintaining meetings and customer contacts. Adjusted the app frequently based on user feedback. Interfaced with an interesting javascript/mysql backend and helped out as needed there. Successfully brought in some helpful tools like Slack, Feature Branches, and Crashlytics to our work process. Had a blast shaping and being shaped by the culture of a very early stage startup.
